PM Narendra Modi will Launch ‘Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan‘ for Boosting Livelihood Opportunities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan‘ from Khagaria, Bihar on June 20 to boost livelihood opportunities in rural India.

‘Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan’ will be a massive rural public works scheme  to empower and provide livelihood opportunities to the migrant workers who have returned during due to COVID-19 and Corona virus situation.

25 different types of Government Schemes will be put together under one roof in this Scheme. It provides jobs and creates infrastructure in the rural regions of the country.

This Scheme covers 116 districts of various states in the country.

The total outlays under the ‘Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan’ are rupees 50000 crore.

India Becomes  Non-permanent Member of United Nation Security Council

India is elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for a two-year term.

It gets 184 votes in the 193-member General Assembly.

Ireland, Mexico and Norway also get entry as non-permanent member of United Nations Security Council.

India is the only candidate for the Asia-Pacific regions so its victory was certain in this group. India’s two year term will begin on January 1, 2021.

India gets the membership of the Security Council for the eighth times,  which comprises five permanent members and 10 non-permanent members.

Maruti partners with Karur Vysya Bank for Loan Financing

Maruti Suzuki India, Car market leader partners with Karur Vysya Bank to offer simpler and flexible financing options for its new customers.

Through this partnership, Maruti is seeking to offer prospective buyers special scheme of up to 100 per cent on road funding with loans for both salaried and self-employed customers

The repayment period for the above loan lasts up to 84 months.

Karur Vysya Bank offers customers in-principle loan sanction in 15 minutes and existing customer of the bank can get their loans disbursed on the same day.

The entire process of the loan, from application to disbursement of the loan being digitized without any manual intervention.

The loan facility will be available across Maruti Suzuki’s network of 3,086 car retail outlets across 1,964 towns, along with 780 branches of Karur Vysya Bank across 22 states across India.

DK Jain gets one-year extension as ethics officer and ombudsman of BCCI

Former Supreme Court judge DK Jain gets one-year extension and will continue as ethics officer and ombudsman in the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Jain was appointed by the Supreme Court in February 2019 as BCCI’s first-ever ombudsman.

Later on, he was given the additional charge of ethics officer.

4th Asian Youth Para Games to be held in December 2021 in Bahrain

The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) announces that the fourth Asian Youth Para Games will take place in Bahrain between 1 and 10 December 2021.

Around 800 athletes under 20 years of will compete in nine sports: athletics, badminton, boccia, goalball, para taekwondo, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair basketball.

The competition will take place across numerous venues in Khalifa Sports City, a multi-use stadium in Isa Town, and Isa Sports City.

Former Goa minister Achyut Usgaonkar Passes Away

Former Goa minister Achyut Kashinath Sinai Usgaonkar passes away following age-related ailments.

Usgaonkar was a leader of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), the oldest regional outfit in Goa.

He served as a cabinet minister from August 1977 to April 1979.

Before serving as a minister, Achyut Usgaonkar was the deputy speaker of Goa during the Dayanand Bandodkar-led government.
